EVENT INFO

Malaria Run Walk Fredericksburg is a 5K fund-raising Run/Walk organized by Empowering The Poor, Inc (ETP). The proceeds of the Run Walk help buy and deliver insecticide-treated bed nets (mosquitoes) to children, women, and men, who would otherwise die from malaria. Malaria poses an emergency in Africa, as every 30 seconds a child dies from it. Yet, malaria is a preventable and treatable disease. Malaria is a silent tragedy, as 150, 000 people die each month. We walk and Run because we strongly believe that EVERY LIFE COUNTS. This event has become a community event where people from all walks of life come together to help restore human dignity in a part of the world where preventable and treatable diseases that has long been eradicated in America continue to prevail and keep people in the vicious cycle of poverty.

Register NOW! Each step brings hope. Every dollar counts. Take the next step and help save lives!

  • Designate a leader. This person will be the contact for your team, as well as responsible for reaching your fundraising goal, and motivating your team members.
  • Register your team.

Ways to Register your Team: A  All teammates must register and have the following items to have their donations count towards your team’s total:

    • Signed Waiver and Release: When registering online a waiver will appear on the screen in the beginning of the process. By clicking “I agree” after you read the waiver, you have “signed” the document. All teammates who register manually must sign the waiver and mail it with their registration forms or bring it the day of the event before 7:15 AM.
